At Jay’s, we’re always moving—literally and figuratively! Our journey in Saskatoon began in 1972 with a humble 1,500 sq. ft. warehouse, but we had big plans for the city. By 1978, founder Dennis Doehl packed up and moved his family to Saskatoon, putting down roots and laying the foundation for even greater things to come.
In 1979, we revolutionized Saskatchewan’s freight industry by launching the first overnight general freight service between Saskatoon and Regina. The momentum didn’t stop there—by 1980, we had secured a one-acre property with a 4,500 sq. ft. building, cementing our long-term commitment to the city.
The 1990s saw rapid expansion, including bringing new freight routes to Prince Albert and North Battleford. As demand grew, so did we—renovating and expanding our Saskatoon freight dock in 2003, then upgrading our facilities again in 2007 and 2009. More recently, we were thrilled to welcome Geransky’s Moving & Storage into the Jay’s family, further strengthening our Saskatoon operations.
But Jay’s is about more than just trucks and warehouses—it’s about people. Our teams don’t just serve Saskatoon; they’re part of it. More than one quarter of our Jay’s family lives in and around the beautiful city of Saskatoon. If Saskatoon isn’t your home, but you would like it to be, we are always hiring! Check out our careers page to join our fantastic moving, freight, or mechanics teams in Saskatoon.
With decades of experience, a passion for service, and a commitment to community, Jay’s continues to be Saskatoon’s trusted name in moving and freight. And we’re just getting started!
